The last of the Beyer Peacock heavy goods class 2-6-0 tender locomotives to be scrapped in the UK was No.16 'Galloping Gertie' in 1930. But as you can read on this website we want to rebuild a brand new engine to the Beyer Peacock design. Our aim is to bring No.16 'Galloping Gertie' back to life on The Swindon And Cricklade Railway.
This website will tell the story of the building of the locomotive and our plans for it's future which we hope you would like to join us on.
